Randy Payton is a Ravenwood Contractor who did a tour in Fallujah, Iraq before the bombs. He was left by Ravenwood at Rogue River Hospital after he was shot by his own teammates as he was trying to stop them from commiting a massacre of the unmovable patients.
Dr. Kenchy Dhuwalia was able to save him and they were the only survivors in the hospital. Upon first contact, he is initially not reluctant to let Jake and Eric close, but they manage to convince him they are not threat to him.
When Ravenwood returned to continue looting he was killed trying to hold them off as Eric, Jake and Kenchy escaped with the medicine for Johnston.
